Abstract

Electrical and Electronics Engineering
IoT, ESP32, Ultrasonic sensor, Gyro sensor,GPS,Sound sensor,Gas sensor,DC Motor, life detection, landslide rescue, human presence detection, vital sign monitoring, embedded systems, disaster management, wireless sensor networks, real-time monitoring.
Landslides pose a significant threat to human life, especially in mountainous and rain-prone regions. Timely detection and rescue of buried victims remain a critical challenge due to the lack of effective real-time monitoring systems. This project presents the design and implementation of an IoT-based Life Detector System aimed at enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of human presence detection beneath soil during landslide disasters. The system integrates advanced sensors such as heartbeat and respiration sensors, seismic vibration detectors, and thermal infrared modules to identify biological signals indicative of human life. These sensory data are processed using a microcontroller unit and transmitted via IoT protocols to a cloud-based platform for real-time monitoring and alert generation. The system is designed for deployment in post-landslide zones to assist rescue operations by accurately pinpointing the location of trapped individuals. Preliminary tests in controlled environments demonstrate the system's potential for high sensitivity and low false positives. This research aims to contribute a scalable, cost-effective, and reliable solution to augment disaster response efforts and reduce casualties in landslide-prone regions.
