Mechanical Engineering
Sortex Machine, automatic length measurement, image processing, automation in quality control, precision up-to 25 microns, dowel pin sorter based on its length.
This design report presents the conceptual framework and specifications for the development of a Sortex machine. The Sortex machine is designed to automate and optimize the sorting process of various items, such as dowel pins, based on specific criteria. The machine utilizes advanced imaging and sorting mechanisms to achieve high accuracy (up to 25 microns) and efficiency in the sorting process. The document outlines the machine's specifications, including sorting capacity, accuracy, size, sorting method, user interface, and material handling. It also provides an overview of the machine's main components, such as the Vibro Machine, conveyor system, imaging and sorting mechanism. Furthermore, safety considerations are addressed to ensure the machine operates in a secure environment. The design of this Sortex machine aims to enhance productivity, reduce human error, and improve the overall quality of sorted items, contributing to streamlined manufacturing processes in various industries. The design of a Sortex machine aims to automate and optimize the sorting process of dowel pins. Dowel pins are widely used in various industries for precise alignment and connection purposes. The Sortex machine described in this report utilizes advanced imaging and sensing technologies to identify and sort dowel pins based on specific criteria i.e. Length of the Dowel Pin. The implementation of this Sortex machine is expected to significantly enhance productivity, reduce human error, and improve the quality and reliability of sorted dowel pins. It provides a reliable and automated solution for industries requiring accurate sorting of dowel pins, ultimately contributing to overall operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
