Abstract

organizational commitment, performance, cooperatives.
Organizational commitment is the connection or bond employees have with their employer (the organization). Organizational performance of cooperatives is traditionally and typically measured using economic and financial metrics, such as profitability and return on equity. This study aims to find out what is the problem in the cooperative, because found the fact that many cooperatives are not active (dead). The study was conducted to four cooperatives in Cateel, Davao oriental. This study need to sought on what was the reason behind its failures of cooperatives. In four cooperatives,there are one hundred fifty respondents and these are the officers and members answered an organizational commitment (Ma. Antonietta E. Jaron, Mariss P. Sandoval, and Fernado A. Garci, 2015) and performance of cooperatives (Hafizah Hammad Ahmad Khan, 2016) questionnaire. The result shows that there is a positive relationship between organizational commitment and performance of cooperatives. The following respondents were revealed as having high levels of affective commitment, continuance commitment, and normative commitment is very high level.
