Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM), MAPEH education, academic performance, modular instruction, descriptive-correlational study
This study investigates the implementation of Alternative Delivery Modes (ADM) in the instruction of Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health (MAPEH) and its relationship to students’ academic performance in public secondary schools within the Tandag City Division. Given the pedagogical complexity of MAPEH—being a performance-based subject—the effectiveness of non-traditional learning modalities warrants empirical exploration, especially in the context of post-pandemic educational recovery. The primary objectives were to (1) determine the most preferred ADM among students, teachers, and administrators; (2) evaluate students' academic performance in MAPEH; and (3) examine the relationship between ADM preference and academic performance. Employing a descriptive-correlational research design, the study engaged a total of three hundred ninety (398) respondents selected through purposive and stratified random sampling. Data collection was conducted using a researcher-developed and expert-validated questionnaire. Results indicated that Modular Instruction was the most preferred ADM across stakeholder groups, followed by Blended Learning. Most students demonstrated high academic performance, with a majority achieving Outstanding or Very Satisfactory ratings. A statistically significant relationship was found between ADM preference and student performance. The findings underscore the effectiveness of modular and blended approaches in delivering MAPEH, offering practical implications for enhancing ADM strategies and advancing inclusive, context-responsive education delivery.
