Abstract

Management
pharmaceutical, resignation, retention, benefits, executives, service, position
The study determined the reasons for the resignation and retention among the Pharmaceutical Executives employed in drug companies of Pangasinan. The respondents, Pharmaceutical Executives, are middle-aged adults, female-dominated, not into marital relationships, finished tertiary education, have been in the service as Pharmaceutical Executives for a few years, are permanent in their positions, earn above-average income, have all received bonuses and commissions, and mostly work in a multinational company. A descriptive research design was used with a questionnaire as the main gathering tool among Pharmaceuticals in Pangasinan. Statistical tools include frequency and percentage, weighted mean, t-test, Scheffe test, and analysis of Variance. The Pharmaceutical Executives agreed and positively confirmed most of the reasons for the resignation of the respondents, particularly being undervalued and unappreciated by the management. The respondents highly agreed with the reasons for staying with the company, especially being highly recognized and appreciated by the Pharmaceutical company. Significant differences exist along the profile variables age, number of years with the company, status of employment, monthly family income, and fringe benefits. Respondents vary in their perceived reasons why the Pharmaceutical Executives leave the company. A significant relationship exists between the reasons for resignation and the status of employment. The more the Pharmaceutical Executives enjoy the fringe benefits, the more they recognize the reasons for staying with the company.
