Abstract

Educational Administration and Management
organizational culture, interpersonal trust, individual work performance, public school teachers, teacher performance, criteria of success, dependability, faithfulness, descriptive-correlational study
This study investigated the influence of organizational culture and interpersonal trust on the individual work performance of public-school teachers in Davao del Norte for the academic year 2025–2026. Using a descriptive-correlational design, the study measured the levels of organizational culture, interpersonal trust, and individual work performance, and determined the significant relationships and predictive variables among them. A total of 105 teachers participated in the study, answering standardized validated survey questionnaires. Results showed that teachers perceived a very high level of organizational culture and interpersonal trust in their respective schools. Similarly, their level of individual work performance was rated as strongly agree, particularly in terms of task and contextual performance, while counterproductive work behavior was strongly disagreed. Correlation analysis revealed a moderate positive relationship between organizational culture and individual work performance and a stronger positive relationship between interpersonal trust and work performance, both statistically significant. Further regression analysis revealed that among the six dimensions of organizational culture, only criteria of success significantly predicted individual work performance, suggesting that when success is clearly defined and recognized, teacher performance improves. In terms of interpersonal trust, two components—dependability and faithfulness emerged as significant predictors of teacher performance, while predictability was not significant. These findings underscore the importance of a supportive and value-driven work environment. A school culture that clearly communicates success and fosters dependable, loyal professional relationships contributes to the consistent delivery of high-quality performance. School leaders are encouraged to strengthen these dimensions to enhance teacher effectiveness and promote a more committed and high-performing teaching workforce.
