Abstract

GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING
Guidance and Counselling, Happiness Index, Perceived Teacher Support, Well-Being, Descriptive-Correlational Design, Philippines
This study investigates the influence of happiness index and perceived support to the well-being of selected senior high school students in the Monkayo East and West District, Davao de Oro, Philippines. A quantitative research design, specifically correlational survey, was employed. The respondents comprised 277 senior high students from five selected schools within the district. Data was collected using modified questionnaires. The results indicate that senior high school students in Monkayo East and West District exhibit a high level of happiness, perceived teacher support, and well-being across indicated dimensions. Furthermore, the correlation analysis revealed a positive relationship between happiness index and perceived teacher support to students’ well-being. It was also revealed that happiness and perceived teacher support predicts students’ well-being. These findings underscore the importance of happiness and the role of teacher support in fostering a positive school environment for the students. Recommendations include providing and implementing activities that would benefit the students in increasing their engagement, which promote happiness and well-being of the learners.
