Abstract

Ayurveda
Agni, Grahani Roga, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Panchamrita Parpati, Bilvavaleha, Hingavashtaka Churna.
The rapidly changing modern era is leading the way in both technology advancements and the emergence of lifestyle problems. A wide range of disorders will eventually arise as a result of the changes in the gastrointestinal system resulting into gastrointestinal functional problems, including Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). IBS is marked by a complex array of symptoms, such as abdominal discomfort or bloating, diarrhea, and constipation, which can impact a person's quality of life, referred to as Grahani in Ayurveda. The term Grahani originates from the Dhatu ''graha,'' meaning '' to retain.'' or ''to acquire''. In Ayurveda, Grahani is associated with Agni (digestive fire) that aids in food digestion and metabolism. Grahani Roga results from the disruption of Agni or digestive fire, causing an imbalance in the digestive metabolism. Grahani can be successfully managed by using a blend of Ayurvedic medicines along with dietary and lifestyle changes. The treatment in this article focuses solely on balancing the digestive fire and eliminating toxins from the body to regain proper digestion and overall well-being.
