Peace is the first condition for stability, harmonious coexistence, love and brotherhood. An individual full of love and peace is of tremendous value not only for himself, but for his family, country, and humanity at large. Peace education is the way to resolve conflict. Peace education must be enriched by social, cultural and spiritual values together with religious and human values. An Attempt has been made in this paper to understand the peace education, to throw light on its importance, role and its implications in present era. It is an established fact that all religion, belief system, and civilizations on earth teach tolerance, harmonious coexistence, peace and non-discrimination. They teach to respect the rights of all human beings, without discriminating, colour, class, creed, culture, or religion. Religion urge people to cooperate with each other in the achievement of righteousness and calls for mutual trust, understanding, love, cohesion and accord among all human beings on the earth. Still there is continued development of weapons of mass destruction, armed conflicts between states and ethnic groups. Still there is spread of racism, gender inequality, community violence, massive violations of human rights and the gap between rich and the poor is still huge and widening throughout the globalized economy.
